Christmas Presents
The Watts' have a new morning, afternoon, and evening conversation with both children on a daily basis:
"Mom, can we pleaseeeeeeeee open a present?"
(I've even threatened that next year, I won't put a single present out until Christmas eve. )
The above words are the first thing that Michael & Hunter ask me every morning, afternoon and evening! The answer continues to be "no". I am actually proud of myself this year, I'm going to try to hold off until next Monday! Although, we did have a little fun Saturday morning. I always buy the boys(including David) a special ornament every year. Hunter's has been wrapped and in our tree for 2 weeks. David and Michael's hit the tree Friday night. I agreed to let them open one present of my choice. (you'd think they would have figured it out by now, always the ornament) I started spouting out riddles for them to figure out where the present was. I must say, I came up with some neat little riddles right off the top of my head. Ok, Dad, I'll give you the credit for that gene. The funny thing was, the presents were wrapped in gold paper with gold bows. They were all at eye level for each height. They looked and looked, not dare giving up. They were deperate to open a present. Finally, they found them!!! Opened them, and loved them. Hunter had a football uniform and I painted his number and put his name on the Jersey. David & Michael had trophies with footballs in them. I painted "2006 Champs" and put Michael's number on his. They thought it was real cool. With smiles on their faces they carefully placed them on the tree. It was a fun game and I think that I will have to come up with something like that every year.... Wonder how many years it will take before they figure out that the first present is their ornament??? Hmmmm, it's already been 10 for Michael and 7 for Hunter.
So for another 7-10 days, I will continue my daily conversation with my boys about opening presents and with a smile on my face i'll continue saying "no, not yet". Although, I am the worlds worst, and I think the only reason that I'm holding back is because I don't have any presents under the tree addressed to "MOM". So until those appear, I'll continue holding my ground and making my little angels wait...............Of course when "those gifts" appear, I might, just might, have a change of heart!! Let the trueth be known, I'm having a fit to let David open his! Heheheheh............. I just love Christmas!

A Sad Loss
This past Saturday we spent the afternoon at Comet Field. Michael's team was playing the championship game. The team had first place locked up for the season and they were trying to grab hold of the Playoff Championship! Unfortunatly they were out played by the other team. They never gave up, they fought til the end! With a touch down in site, the ball was passed and intercepted by the other team. A sad ending to an awesome season! The boys held their heads up, got patted on the backs, and lots of praise was given by coaches and parents. It was an all around GREAT & rewarding season! Shewwwwww and I must admit, I'm glad it has come to an end. We had some real cold Saturdays! I don't do very well in the cold, actually, I despise cold weather!!! With trophies in hand, Michael headed off to spend the day with team mates, forgetting about the game.......... Now we will enjoy a few weeks off then we hit the batting cage!

The Watts' 2006 Christmas Tree

Ok, like everything that the Watts' do, there is a story......
This is the official Christmas tree from Hell! It has been an eventful nightmare. Although, being the persistant person that I am, I was determined, that I would win and that my bargain tree would be beautiful. It took weeks to accomplish but it has been a success............and so the story goes.......
2 years ago, the day after Christmas, I was again, determined to get a bargain. I did, on this tree. It is a 9 foot tree. #1 problem, it's NOT pre-lit. Last year we struggled but we got it up and got lights on it. Although, I was never satisfied that there were enough lights. So last year, the day after Christmas I purchased the additional lights that would be needed for this year's tree. Oh, boy... do we have lights.... thousands of them! We also decided that this years tree needed to be on a timer. After putting the tree together limb by limb (3hour+ job), we also, limb by limb placed our lights. Each limb has lights and each row holds a strand of white lights all the way to the top. We were done and ready for plug in..... but..when we plugged it all up, the lights came on and they were beautiful.... although......... they went off as quickly as they came on. We had blown a fuse and the plug in was hot to the touch. Oh how our firefighter friends would have gone completely nuts! We had a major problem and my angel had not even been plugged in or even put on the tree. So, we redirected a few strands to another socket. This seemed to work. We all decorated the tree, carefully placing all the special ornaments in just the right place. After that was done, we lit the tree... poof.. the lights went out. Another fuse and then another. Our tree was driving David insane! We headed out to purchase extension cords and a power strip. To date, that has worked and my angel has found her home, right on top! This picture is without the angel, but I will soon get a new pic to post......................there you have it.... our Christmas tree for 2006! Never a dull moment! David never claimed to be an electrician!
Berry Hill Resort & Spa AKA Berry Hill Mansion
David, relaxing in style.....
Wow, What a great place this is! David & I had a day & evening of much needed R&R. Another couple, Gary & Michelle, and our selves decided to spend the day at Berry Hill. We started our day off with lunch at Darby's Tavern. It was so cozy and yummy. We had burgers & drinks before heading over to the Blackberry spa for an Aromatherapy massage. Peppermint & lavendar was our aroma of choice. It was sensational. While we were getting our massages, David & Gary toured the grounds and educated themselves about the Mansion. They caught back up with Michelle & I and then took us on a tour. The mansion is just beautiful. I wish I knew what was actually original vs restored etc. We could figure out the original structure etc. We looked at every detail and asked anyone that we could find for things we weren't certain about. It is just a relaxing, historical, awesomely constructed piece of history. After our self guided tour we went back to Darby's tavern for a few more drinks. We then got ready and went over to the Molasses's Grill for my work party. That was so good! We all enjoyed our time together and our dinner & service was excellent!Back to our resort for tranquility! To Darby's Tavern for a few more drinks then we went our seperate ways to our luxurious room.
This morning, we slept in and then went to the dining room for a buffet breakfast. It was delicious! We had great conversation with our friends and an awesome weekend. We gathered our belongings, checked out, purchased a few souveniers and headed back to reality. It was a romantic, stress free, much needed and deserved weekend for all.
Undefeated Cluster Springs Tigers
Michael's team was undefeated all season. Saturday was their first playoff game for an "unknown" title. They won!! They will play again next Saturday, with hopes that it is much warmer. Michael played an awesome game. The team just clicks. They all know their role and exicute it with style, boldness and great sportsman like conduct! They are a great group of kids and I have truely enjoyed watching them play and pull together as a team should. Each of these children should be so proud of themselves for their accomplishments! One more game and they have the bragging rights!!!!!!!!!
Go Cluster Springs Tigers!
