Snow

The forecast was lots of snow..........

Not........... got a few flakes... no school.. a few hours or work to reschedule patients that didn't want to get out and saw a few who managed to come in before the big blizzard was expected to come. We waited and watched and finally a few flurries. It was pretty coming down but it didn't last long..........Oh well....us adults just can't get a "snow day". Better luck next time!

Official Watts' Christmas

Magic and Hunter.......
You see...... our family has many Christmas'. They include: Parrett Christmas, Immediate Watts' Christmas, Shotwell Christmas & extended post season Watts' Christmas. We love Christmas sooooo much we just hate to quit celebrating!

In all seriousness David's Aunts and Uncles come home for Christmas and we gather at Uncle Steves for dinner and present opening. We used to play poker but I beat them all last year so the subject didn't even come up this year. With all of the days excitement and a bunch of sore 4 wheelin riding butts, this year was quieter than most. We were without Uncle John & Sue and we truely missed them! They had other obligations for the weekend. Cody entertained us with her teenage life struggles... of.. having to take her sister every where she goes, finally getting a cell phone and her younger sister gets one too, a better one at that.... It was entertaining and we all took Cody's side.. LOL

Hunter found a friend, which you see in the above picture or below where ever it ends up to be. Magic is the Weiss family pet. Hunter has taken a true liking for animals. Paddy & Dutch are at his side always! He just loves animals... hmmm maybe he'll be a vet???????

Another Christmas, Another year........another eventful weekend, everyone safe and continuing to count our blessings!

4 Wheeler Ride

Last Saturday our extended Watts' Christmas weekend started. David's dad's family from Virginia Beach came to town. We had been planning a 4 wheeler ride and we were all gased up and ready to go. The Shotwell family, The Elliott family, The Watts' family and a few of the boys friends joined us at the Shotwell home to meet up with other family members for our ride. We headed down to Uncle Steve's where we picked up Steve, Sandra, Cody, Casey, Mark, Kenny & Larry. What a beautiful day it was. Not too cold, not too windy, the sun was shining bright, our coolers were packed with drinks and snacks and we were ready to enjoy our day!

Our first stop.. the store. No 4 wheeler ride is complete without stopping at the store several times during the ride. We were all going along and taking a different path to our destination, the older children, including Hunter, were ahead with a few other adults while us putters were enjoying the beautiful day. As we approached closer there seemed to be something going on up above. Uncle Steve was directing us safely to cross a rode and ahead there was a car in the rode, my mother-in-laws van pulled onto the 4 wheeler path and the children were all stopped. I knew there was serious trouble. As I came off the path onto the rode, I kicked my 4 wheeler in high gear to reach the scene. I can't even begin to tell you what all was going thru my head. As I went up the rode, I accounted for the children. I passed Hunter, and a few other kids, but no Michael. As I pulled off the road to find out what was going on, my eyes found and accounted for everyone else. All of this happened in seconds along with going thru first aid, CPR and anything else that my brain could manage to go over. As I came off the bike someone said it's Hunter, he hit a car. I ran, which felt to be in slow motion, over to Hunter. He was fine. I felt him from one end to the other. He was sitting on his bike and simply pointed to his handle bar, his brake line was broken. I still had no clue what in the hell just happened. I was shaking... I didn't know whether to cry, fuss or what so I chose to hug my baby and say a prayer thanking God that my baby is ok.

After getting myself together, Mark told me what happened. Hunter just lost control of his bike and it pulled him up onto the rode, and a car was coming and he hit the car on the front passenger side panel. Very minimal damage to the car, but the driver and his wife were as shook up as we were. They were the nicest folkes and a gift from God! If it had been anyone else they could have been flying on that rode or if Hunter had been 15 seconds earlier it could have been fatal. The nice people saw us all riding and they slowed down. After gathering ourselves together and exchanging information we headed to our destination. The store... it was a pretty sight....I proceeded to go in and find me a drink to settle my nerves. I was still shaking and crying. I just kept thinking about what could have been..........Hunter was fine, a little shaken up but I think it scared him enough that he will stay real close next time. Whether we had been right there with Hunter, I feel like the same thing would have happened. The path was rough and rutted out and it was just what you call a "freak accident". He wasn't driving crazy or going to fast. Hunter needed a life reality check as he is my dare devil and fear wasn't in his vocabulary. I think now, he will think twice before doing anything....

The rest of our day was awesome.... we stopped by creeks, tooking little hiking trips in the woods, cooked hot dogs out in the woods, shared lots of laughter with our friends and family. All in all it was a wonderful day! We rode approximatly 26 miles. Thank you God for keeping us all safe.

Just a fun picture!
Hunter wanted to strike a pose with his dad and our dogs. Paddy is the pom & Dutchess is the ? rescued from an ice storms years ago.
