NYC here we come
Yep... I have finally after months of agonizing, we are flying to NJ for a visit with Mom & Dad. This will be the boys first plane trip. With David starting a new job he is going to be unable to go with us. At first, before the new job, we were all going to drive up, but I'm not about to drive it without David. So after debating and debating, I finally purchased 3 tickets. The boys are REAL excited about the trip. We have lots of plans.. so stay tuned for more updates of our trip.
Only Hunter aka "Bubba 2"
Only Hunter would carry around a roll of toilet paper and bag when he has a bad cold. I always tell the kids to blow, blow, blow, better out than in. Hunter took it to heart and blew his nose sore! "Mom, I'm not letting that yukky stuff stay in my head, because I do not want to go back to the doctor." (His last visit won him positive strep & 2 shots, guess I wouldn't want to go back either)A new member of the Progress-Energy Family
Several days later, of-course, David got a phone call from a friend that had been helping him get on at PE, and he said to check our email. David calls me and I check our home email from work and low and behold, it was an email from the supervisor, for David to call him, he had a job opening and wanted to know if he was still interested. David couldn't dial the number fast enough. Another interview was set up and he went. He was offered the position and accepted. This is an awesome move for our family! We are so excited!
David starts March 19th, so keep him in your thoughts a prayers.
February Blues & News

February brought the Watts family many different things from one extreme to the other. Here are a few Blues & News:
1.Hunter & David have avoided the flu, colds, and general funky stuff that is going around.
2. Michael & I have not.
3.Michael has been sick for 3 weeks. Fever, cough, congestion. His sickness with great insurance has cost us over $200.00. We have purchased every drug available over the counter, prescription drugs by the truck loads, new vaporizers, shower soothers, chest rubs, new tubing & supplies for breathing machines.
4. Countless hours of washing, drying, putting up, lysoling, scrubing and general defunking
5. 2 weeks of sleepless nights for Michael, Mom & Dad
6. Middle of the night breathing treatments, cough syrup and Tylenol.
7. Lots of help from David's family, so we could work.
8. Weekends of laying around and catching up on sleep
9. we have watched every show of: Dirty Jobs, Orange County housewives, Emeril, Sell this House and many more. I don't care if the TV every gets cut back on!
10. Conclusion: We own stock in CVS & Community Pharmacy and now our pediatrician is on speed dial!
Nothings ever simple
My first questions to Michael were: Are you Ok? "yes" Do I need to call 911? "No, I've put the fire out and Carl is here." Shewwww, I thought...
Now, Michael tell me what is happening:
"we were coming down the driveway and I saw smoke coming from the woods, I told Hunter to call you and I ran to see what was going on, the woods were on fire. I started stomping it out and then threw dirt and then started hauling 5 gallon buckets of water. I first used Dutchess water bowl, but that wasn't enough, so I dumped the balls out of the bucket and started using that. The fire is now out, Mom. Everything is ok."
Then i had to find out where the fire was, in the tunnel? Michael explained that it was on the side of the house where we dump the lawn mower cuttings in the woods. He told me that the night before he had dumped (with his father approval) the ashes from our wood stove that had been outside for several days. He told me that he had even raked out a place to dump them. Well, guess what? There might have been a few "hot coals" left in the bottom and with the winds it sparked up. Thank goodness, the boys came home, they were true heroes and done everything just the way they should have!
Conclusion: If the babysitter hadn't had a sick child, Granny had of answered the phone to get the boys our home would have been up in flames by the time everyone had gotten home. The fire was spreading right to our house and it wouldn't have taken long at all! I am one proud mom!
